Steven
Bennett
Steven
Bennett received a sponsorship to the Roatan Bilingual School
enabling him to complete his education through the sixth grade
in 1986. At the time, that was the highest grade offered
by the school. The fundamentals he learned at the Roatan Bilingual
School helped Steven
to
prove himself working at a local seafood company, and to take on
increasingly difficult job positions. Steve progressed from an
entry level
position through managing floor operations to working on the boats.
Now, Steven is Captain of one of the top producing
boats and he is using his success to send his three
children to the school.
Lydia Walker
Lydia Watler began work a a temporary teacher's
assistant in the pre-school in 1983. Her involvement in the school
inspired her to pursue a career in education. Her dedication
and potential lead her to a scholarship at Harding University
in the U.S., where she earned a four year degree in Early Childhood
Education. After graduation she returned to the Bilingual School
teaching pre-school in both English and Spanish.
